To reach the heart of the City, the Municipality of Siena realized, in the past 15 years, an escalator system connected to multi-level car parks around the city centre. This system allows to overtake the demanding height who made difficult reaching the heart of the city. Escalators allow a sustainable and eco-friendly viability system and are an important safeguard tool for the city centre, declared Unesco heritage since 1995.
